“Destiny may ride with us today, but there is no reason for it to interfere with lunch”
Peter the Great

1. Federal. A quick, light, and friendly option just a stones throw away from Sunlight House. Famed in Manchester for it's specialty coffee but in our opinion their lunches deserve just as much of the limelight.

2. Pieminster. With a growing number of restaurants across the UK, this Bristol-based outfit offers hearty and delicious pies from 12pm every weekday. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available in their express lunch meal deals, all under £10.

3. Dishoom. This Indian restaurant with a difference serves up mouthwatering Bombay-style street food, with many vegetarian and vegan options to satisfy every palate. For early casual eaters, there’s also a popular brunch menu.

4. Koreana. This cosy and unassuming family-run spot serves up hearty and authentic Korean fare. With a delicious and affordable lunchtime business menu, it offers a wonderful alternative for people willing to brave a little midday walk.

5. The Ivy. Just a short walk away within Spinningfields, this restaurant serves modern British classics and offers an all-day two- course set menu for 17.95 on weekdays. A great option if you fancy a bit of a treat over your lunch hour.

6. Rosa’s Thai Cafe. Street snacks, salads, soups, curries and noodles are the staples of this Thai food eatery originating from London. Perfect for a team lunch, they recommend ordering a spread of dishes for the whole table to share and enjoy.

7. Gusto. The 'Elegantly Italian' safe bet. All the staple Italian dishes you would expect, with a few extra's you wouldn't. Perfect for taking the team out for a team social or a quiet meeting.

8. Hawksmoor Manchester. If you’re a meat-lover looking to splash out on a special treat, this classic award-winning steakhouse, open from midday each day, is one of the city’s most popular eateries. They offer an express two or three course menu in the early afternoons every weekday

9. Albert Schloss. This lively beer hall is a real Manchester landmark, serving up a seasonal menu of Bavarian- inspired dishes. Enjoy more formal dining in their Cook Haus from 12pm daily, or place an order at the bar for pretzels, wursts and and burgers.

10. The Blues Kitchen. A slightly more lively lunch that could well turn into dinner. Open from 12pm every weekday, this atmospheric Blues bar isn’t just a nightlife spot. Enjoy a creative selection of burgers, sandwiches and salads and polish it off with a drink in their midweek lunch deal for £10.
